Larry D. Jones, age 65 of Higginsville, Missouri died on Friday, June 20, 2014 at St. Luke's Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri.
Born Saturday, November 6, 1948 in Dardanelle, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Harel Hoyt Jones and the late Wilma Louise (Fahrmeier) Jones. He and Beverly Peerson were united in marriage June 19, 1970.
He was a 1966 graduate of Corder High School and lived most of his life in Higginsville. He worked as an over-the-road truck driver for Fed-Ex Freight. He loved to fish and hunt.
Surviving are his wife, Beverly Jones of the home in Higginsville; one son, Chris (Christy) Jones of Higginsville; two brothers, Harold (Beryl) Jones of Macon, Georgia and Charles (Sue) Miller of Rolla, Missouri; two grandsons, Trevor and Trenton Jones.
A Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Hoefer Chapel, 1600 Main St. Higginsville with Pastor Betty Thaller officiating.
The family will receive friends after 7:00 P.M. to on Monday at Hoefer Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be sent to Lafayette County Cancer Coalition P.O. Box 88 Higginsville, Missouri 64037.
