Notes - Della Madalin (Pulliam) Tippett, 94, of Memphis, Missouri passed away October 18, 2010 at the Scotland County Care Center. The daughter of George Lynn and Lenna (Clough) Pullliam, she was born on February 28, 1916 near Etna, Missouri. On May 2, 1937 she was united in marriage to Dennis F. Tippett who preceded her in death on May 15, 1985. Surviving are two sons, Leland Tippett and wife Marilyn of Wright, Minnesota and John Tippett and wife Margie of Lancaster, Missouri; two daughters, Mary Deane Linnemeyer and husband Bruce of Camp Point, Illinois and Nancy Hyde and husband Denny of Burlington, Iowa; twelve grandchildren Brian and Kelly Linnemeyer, Gary and Laura Linnemeyer, Lisa and Tim Mueller, Suzanne and Dave Taplin, Mike and Karen Tippett, Sara Davidson, Randy and Laura Tippett, Chad and Elissa Tippett, Amy and Lathe Nunan, Cole and Lindsay Tippett, Mickie and Josh Byers, and Kelsie Hyde; 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; one sister-in-law Martha Pulliam of Springfield, Illinois; and two nieces and a nephew; cousins; and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one son, Larry Richard in infancy; four brothers, Dean Pulliam, Junior Pulliam, Max Pulliam, and Hillis Pulliam; and one great-grandson, Nevada Davidson.
Madalin and her husband Dennis resided on a family farm for many years until they moved to Memphis. During her life, Madalin enjoyed gardening, riding horses and attending horse shows, helping her children in 4-H and FFA, babysitting for several families, attending church and helping with funeral meals for over 25 years. She was a long time member of the Memphis Christian Church.
Funeral services were held on October 21, 2010 at the Memphis Christian Church with Reverend Larry Smith officiating. A eulogy was given by Cole Tippett. Music selections included the Taplin family singing "How Great The Father's Love For Us"; Suzanne Taplin, Lisa Mueller, Mickie Byers, Kelsie Hyde, and Cole Tippett singing "The Old Rugged Cross"; and Cole Tippett singing a medley of "How Great Thou Art", "Glorify", and "How Great Is Our God". Ann Luther was the pianist. Pall bearers were Brian Linnemeyer, Gary Linnemeyer, Randy Tippett, Chad Tippett, Josh Byers, and Kenny Pulliam. Honorary pall bearers were Suzanne Taplin, Lisa Mueller, Amy Nunan, Cole Tippett, Mickie Byers, and Kelsie Hyde. Burial was in the Memphis Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials were suggested to the Memphis Christian Church and may be left at or mailed to the Gerth Funeral Service, 115 S. Main, Memphis, MO.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Gerth Funeral Service from their Memphis chapel.
