Notes - Laurita Jo Turner of Mayville, age 57, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at United Hospice Service in Marlette, surrounded by her loving family. The former Laurita Kilbourn was born October 20, 1955 in Caro, the daughter of Raymond Kilbourn and the late Patricia Hitchings Kilbourn. She was a 1973 graduate of Cass City High School. On June 29, 1974 she was united in marriage with Thomas Turner at the Deford Community Church in Deford. Lori was a licensed insurance agent and worked first with AAA of Michigan in Bay City and Caro, and most recently with Emil Rummel Insurance Agency in Frankenmuth. In addition to being a loving mother and homemaker, she enjoyed sewing, painting, gardening, traveling, cooking, as well as spending time with her grandkids and grand-dog. Lori is survived by her husband, Thomas; her children, Diana Turner of Waterford and Steven (Shannon) Turner of Marysville, Ohio; two grandchildren, Christopher and Kendra Turner at home; her father, Joe Kilbourn of Deford; one brother, Ken (Brenda) Kilbourn of Deford; three nephews, Jason (Renee) Kilbourn of Deford, Jeremy (Jennifer) Kilbourn of Deford, and Josh (Whitney) Kilbourn of Caro; her sisters- and brothers-in-law, Carol Long of Cass City, David (Penny) Turner of Mayville, and Deb (Gary) Wright of Caro; the remainder of her nieces and nephews; her grand-dog, Izzy. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by an infant brother and her mother- and father-in-law, Walter and Loretta Turner. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Pastor Dan Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in North Grove Cemetery in Mayville. The family will receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to United Hospice Service in Marlette.
