Notes - HENDON, Charles Allen - of Clio, age 72, died Friday, October 24, 2014 at McLaren of Flint. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday, October 27, 2014 at Trinity Assembly of God, 4363 W. Mt. Morris Rd. Pastor Rob King and Rev. Dr. John D. Bailey officiating. Burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Friends may call at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Sunday from 4-8PM and at the church on Monday from 10AM until time of services at 11AM. Contributions may be made to the family.
Allen was born April 28, 1942 in Flint to the late Aubrey and Neva (King) Hendon. He lived in Clio most of his life. He married Judy McKnight-Burpee on August 29, 1980. Mr. Hendon retired from Buick in 1994 with 30 years seniority. He was a member of Trinity Assembly of God, Clio and Thetford Senior Centers and the UAW Local #599. Allen was an owner-driver of a race car and went to many races at Auto City Speedway along with many other race tracks.
Surviving are: wife, Judy; children, Dan Hendon of Mt. Morris, Laura (Mark) Byerly of Lapeer, Daren Hendon of Flint, Rex Burpee of New Lothrop, Janeen (Rob) Bartholomew of Davison, Dean Hendon of Lansing, James Burpee of KS, Dion Hendon of New Lothrop, Daphne (Scott) Shumaker of Clio, Rebekah (Richard) Beers of Lapeer, Courtney Hendon of Clio; 34 grandchildren; 1 great grandson.
