  Aleene Rogge Curry, age 84, of Waverly, Missouri, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2011 at her home. Aleene was born June 23, 1926 in Waverly, Missouri, the daughter of Chris Edward and Florence (Selle) Rogge. She attended Hazel Hill and Waverly schools. On July 4, 1948 she married Ernest W. (Pete) Curry in Waverly, Missouri. He preceded her in death on February 23, 2005. Aleene had worked at Banquet Foods in Carrollton for several years and retired from Lake City Arsenal in 1982, where she had worked in the lab for seventeen years. Aleene was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Waverly and the Ladies Aid of the church. Aleene is survived by four children, Linda Blyth, Orrick, Missouri; Ernest Michael Curry and wife, Jana, Carrollton, Missouri; Brenda Lou Baker and husband, Mike, Warsaw, Missouri; Mark Lee Curry and wife, Tammie, Kingsville, Missouri; one brother, Edward Lee Rogge, Dover, Missouri; one sister, Mardell Salyer, Waverly, Missouri; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Her parents and one sister, Lillian Rogge Wilkins, also preceded her in death. Visitation will be held from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Gibson Funeral Home, Waverly, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waverly, with Pastor Brett Mueller officiating. Burial will be in Waverly Cemetery, Waverly, Missouri. The family suggests contributions be made to the Waverly Immanuel Lutheran Church Building Fund in memory of Aleene.
