Notes - rom THOMAS GRIDLEY OF WINDSOR AND HARTFORD, CT, HIS ANCESTORS & DESCENDENTS, by Thomas Boslooper, 1993, Part II, Vol II, p. 104: Researchers who follow the lineages of Samuel and Thomas Gridley of Farmington, CT will note that their descendents moved into Oneida County, NY where cousins maintained the family tradition. A central locale for some of the descendents of Thomas Gridley was Cazenovia, NY where some remained for successive generations and others moved to the midwest and farwest. Samuel's lineage is especially notable for Reuel Gridley and the succession of four Hezekiah Gridleys. Thomas' lineage is remarkable for having produced Gen.Asahel Gridley, George Washington Gridley and Capt. Charles Vernon Gridley, along with the maternal heritage of President Gerald R.Ford.
