      THURSDAY - APRIL 14, 1859 - PAGE 7

Sad Accident- Mr. Charles Wyman, while going up the Tittabawassee river with his family, on the "Midland City" steamer, on Tuesday last, fell overboard and was drowned. Mr. Wyman had long been subject to sudden attacks of fits, making him insensible and causing him to fall. He was standing in the forward part of the boat, near to one side, when he was seized with one of these fits and fell into the river. Being entirely insensible, he could make no effort to help himself. Efforts were made to rescue him before sinking, but without success. The current being strong and rapid, his body could not be found after he first disappeared and has not since been discovered.
