Doris Hailey, 79, died June 18, 2015, at the Billings Clinic with family by her side. She was born on Nov. 14, 1935, to Alice and Crawford Fawcett in Newcastle Wyo., the second of 10 children. She graduated from Newcastle High School, class of 1954. On July 12, 1954, she married Doyle L. Hailey and from that union came one daughter.
Her working career was spent as a retail clerk working at Safeway Food Stores in Nebraska, Oregon and Montana. In retirement Doris was an active member of the Billings Heights VFW Ladies Auxiliary and held the post of Chaplain.
She was an accomplished seamstress and loved to sew for family and friends. She loved to spend time with her many friends playing pinochle, shopping and going to lunch.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, brother Tom Fawcett and sister Judy Hampton. She is survived by her husband of 60 years Doyle; her daughter Deborah (Mark) Johnson, of Billings; grandson Lukas (Samantha) Johnson, of Aurora, Neb.; brothers Lewis (Mary Jo) Fawcett, of Basin Wyo., Jerry (Karol) Fawcett and Robert (Karen Jo) Fawcett, of Newcastle, Wyo.; sisters Joan Lassle, Jean Day, of Newcastle, Wyo., Dorothy (Ron) Pitts, of Newell, S.D., and Lois Hurley, of Ponce De Leon, Fla., and a host nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will be missed by all.
