      Mr. Butler, 79, died April 7, 2009 in Casper. He was born January 1, 1930 in Lusk, Wyoming. His parents were "Red" Butler and Rita (Miller) Swope. He had three brothers and two sisters.

      He was a lifetime rancher. He was the last of the true cowboys. He was known for his horse breaking skills which were self taught. He was a member of the Lusk Senior Pro-Rodeo and a supporter of F.F.A.

      He was father to two children, M. Dean Butler of Sterling, CO, and Sheri Butler of Glendale, AZ. Dwight Krien was his top hand. He had five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

      He is survived by his wife, Velma, of Casper.
