  Johan Was Born In Orloff, Prussia. His Fathers Name Was Klaus Friesen. Johan Was Married To Helena Friesen In 1883, And To This Union, Eight Children Were Born, And Since Only Two Of The Eight Children Lived Past Infancy, It Is Surmised That Helena's Maiden Name Was Also Friesen, That They Might Have Been Closely Related. After Helena's Death In 1843,Johan Married Again, This Time To Maria Shierling In 1844. Maria Came From The Village Of Mariethal. Johan Became A Teacher In Pardenau, Russia; Then He Moved To Shardau; From There He Moved To Elizabethal Taught School There For Six Years. He Moved Again, This Time To Marienthal Onto His Father -In-Law's FarmWhich He Purchased. His Life Was Rather Difficult Because He Had To Battle With Large Debts.
